Set of two HD0 calibrated plates, containing UV filters in PMMA material, for carrying out the normative test to check theadditivity and linearity of your spectrophotometer in accordance with ISO 24443:2021, ISO/DIS 23675, ISO/CD 23698, FDA monograph 2011, etc.

Given their stable, standardized absorption and diffusion properties, they are suitable “reference emulsions” for checking and comparing instruments used for in vitro determination of UV protection for intralaboratory purposes.

Directions for use

Select two of the stable, standardized transparent PMMA UV reference plates. The absorbance peaks of these reference plates at 340 nm are at least 1.1 absorbance units, but less than 1.5 absorbance units (AU). Designate the first plate as plate A and the second plate as plate B.

Measure against air,
Place plate A in the spectrophotometer’s optical path and measure in duplicate,
Place plate B in the spectrophotometer’s optical path and perform duplicate measurements,
Place the two plates (A and B) one above the other with their rough sides facing each other in the light path and measure the combined absorbance (from 290 nm to 400 nm) in duplicate,
Check that the minimum range limit is 2.2 AU and a linearity of at least 85%.
