Robot SPREADMASTER

Discover our new SPREADMASTER, the latest innovation in the world of sun protection evaluation. This improved version is designed to meet the needs of professionals who demand unrivalled precision in the application of suncare products. Smaller, lighter and equipped with cutting-edge technology, the SPREADMASTER offers enhanced performance that redefines market standards with an accuracy of 0.005 mm (5 µm).

With its ability to spread sunscreen products evenly on substrates PMMA molded (HD6) and sandblasted (SB6)the SPREADMASTER ensures reproducibility and precise measurement of sun protection, facilitating research and development of new, effective products. Fully compliant with solar standards such as ISO 24443:2021, ISO/DIS 23675, ISO/CD 23698 and others, making this robot indispensable for the accurate assessment of Sun Protection Factors(SPF), UVA protection(UVAPF), and more.

With its compact design, the SPREADMASTER can be placed on a bench, making it ideal for use in laboratories with restricted space, while its light weight allows easy handling and increased portability.

Directions for use

The new SPREADMASTER developed by WENEOS (formerly HelioScreen) is a mini robot that enables reproducible application of suncare products with ease of use:

  • Switch on the unit,
  • Connect a computer and access the interface for spreading parameters,
  • Position the silicone finger and a
    doigtier
    ,
  • Apply the solar product to a PMMA
    substrate (HD6)
    or
    sandblasted (SB6)
    equipped with a
    metal cradle
    ,
  • Place the sample in the instrument and close the door,
  • Then run a spreading cycle,
  • Recover the sample at the end of spreading and place it in the dark at a controlled temperature (using the THERMASTER).

Finally, the robotic device must be checked at regular intervals (at least every twelve months) to ensure compliance with mechanical and spreading specifications. This calibration of the X, Y and Z axes (including pressure) can be carried out automatically and in compliance with international standards.

Finally, the mechanical finger (Silicone Finger) must be replaced after every 400 spreading operations or when damaged.
