Change of identity – HelioScreen becomes WENEOS

WENEOS, our new name for a broader mission

 

A company’s identity is expressed through its name, which reveals its values and ambitions. A name change is therefore a decisive moment that requires investment, dedication and a clear vision. Today, we’re reinventing ourselves under the name of WENEOS, a significant turning point that paves the way for an unprecedented chapter in our history, and here are the reasons why.

HelioScreen was originally founded in 1999 by Mr Dominique Lutz, with the aim of enabling companies to assess the sun protection of their cosmetic products using in vitro methods.

Over the past 10 years, under the impetus of a new management team headed by Mr. Sébastien MIKSA, our company has evolved towards a more global perspective, undergoing remarkable expansion. We have innovated our methods, expanded our team, strengthened our international presence and introduced new products and services. But one thing has remained constant: our mission, which is to enable companies of all sizes to carry out reliable sun protection assessments in line with international standards.

As a result, we have gone from being a test laboratory to a complete, unified center of expertise, bringing together all services and products relating to the evaluation of sun protection using alternative methods.

 

Why choose WENEOS?

 

The name “HelioScreen”, evoking both the Greek mythological sun god “Helios” and the idea of “screen”, no longer fully reflected our activities and commitments. Our mission had evolved, and we needed a new name and brand image to support this transition.

After reviewing hundreds of proposals, WENEOS was the obvious choice for our renewed mission. WENEOS takes its origin from the fusion of words that characterize us:

  • “WE” stands for team spirit and our common goal of guaranteeing reliable, genuine sun protection for the consumer.
  • The name “NEO”, of Greek origin, means “New”, to underline our significant innovations in improving assessment methods.
  • “EOS”, goddess of the dawn and sister of Helios, symbolizing the dawn of new advances in solar protection with a broader perspective.

We gave it more energy and made it unique by bringing these elements together, while adding a shade of violet representative of our specialty: protection against ultraviolet rays.
